Project Description

2000 Sunrise Blvd

This spacious, open concept MCM looker has everything you want as a seller, a buyer, and a real estate photographer (yes, the photographer wrote this. Don’t blame the agent for his unabashed man-crush on this particular house, or his misuse of real estate and design terminology). The curb appeal gets real with the handmade wrought iron address sign peeking out from a well-manicured Japanese Maple that greets you at the front corner, continues up over the perfectly-red brick retaining wall into the beautifully sloped, lush green grass lawn, and culminates with the fragrant jasmine vines draped perfectly above the brick red doorway that welcome you in the door with flowers that smell like a fairy tale feels – and that’s before you’ve even stepped inside. But while we’re still outside, you’re definitely gonna want to get a croquet set for this front lawn. Just saying.

The interior welcomes you into a well-proportioned living area for a 2,000 ft.² home, greeting you with a wood burning fireplace and adorned with hardwood floors throughout. It’s got a metric gigaton (that’s like 19,000 gallons) of fresh daylight streaming in from every direction, and the height above street level makes for some unexpected privacy so curtains seem downright optional. After a saunter through the living and dining areas you can sit at the chest high bar and watch someone else do the cooking in this long and beautiful kitchen. The kitchen is appointed with top-tier appliances with French names that defy my attempts at pronunciation, and embellished with an inordinate amount of cupboard space that invites trips to Costco and appliances I’ve never had room for but always wanted to try. Rice cooker? Obviously. Bread machine? You betcha. Throughout the home – closets! So many closets, with nice, big handles for my clumsy hands and room to spare for puzzles, holiday decorations (hello Halloween!), and that sewing machine you never use. In addition, the bedrooms are big enough for a king sized bed AND a dresser AND a chair to sit on, and the bathrooms are just downright funky and cool. Vintage, but still clean and modern feeling. A bit retro futuristic.

When your eyes grow sore from gazing at the beautiful skyline views afforded by all of the oversized bay windows, try heading out the back door for something a bit more intimate. The backyard appears to be the perfect place to pull out that old hobby macro lens you bought in college. If the covered concrete patio wasn’t enough for your entertaining needs, the vintage brick fireplace, raised garden beds, hydrangeas, and trellis above the fence will all be vying for your attention, as will the hummingbirds that don’t need feeders, because they just drink directly from the vibrant assortment of flowers. Did we mention also there are kiwi, and figs? What is this, paradise? Frankly, if you’re lucky enough to own this delightful home (which is doubtful, it won’t be around long), you probably won’t want to leave. If it were mine, I sure wouldn’t.

So if you’re in Eugene, go see this house, just so you can experience the sensation of walking through the front door while being greeted by the scent of fresh jasmine. It’s otherworldly.
